These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the claude cowork desktop application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by claude cowork ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using claude cowork, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.


1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using claude cowork, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, and that you accept these Terms in full. If you are using claude cowork on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.


2. Description of Service

claude cowork is a desktop AI assistant application that leverages Anthropic's Claude AI engine to provide artificial intelligence capabilities directly on your computer. The Service includes:

  • The claude cowork desktop application for Windows and macOS
  • AI-powered text generation, analysis, and automation features
  • File system integration and screen context awareness
  • Plugin and skill marketplace access
  • Account management and billing services
  • Customer support and documentation

The Service depends on Anthropic's Claude API for AI processing. Service availability is subject to Anthropic's operational status and API uptime.


3. User Accounts

Certain features of claude cowork require a registered account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You may use the claude cowork free tier without creating an account, subject to reduced functionality and daily API call limits.


4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use claude cowork only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not use the Service to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
  • Infringe upon or misappropriate any intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the claude cowork software
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product or service
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without explicit written permission
  • Use automated methods (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal application usage
  • Generate spam, phishing content, malware, or deceptive material
  • Use the Service to make decisions in high-risk domains (medical diagnosis, legal advice, financial trading) without appropriate professional oversight

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Acceptable Use Policy without prior notice.


5. Subscription and Payment Terms

5.1 Pricing Plans

claude cowork offers multiple subscription tiers: Free, Pro, Team, and Enterprise. Current pricing is available on the pricing page. Prices are quoted in US dollars unless otherwise stated.

5.2 Billing Cycle

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected at the time of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will be charged on the same day of the month as your initial purchase.

5.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your selected payment method.


6. Free Tier Limitations

The claude cowork free tier is provided at no cost with the following limitations:

  • 50 API calls per day (resets at midnight UTC)
  • Standard model access only (latest models reserved for paid plans)
  • No team collaboration features
  • Community-only support (no dedicated support channels)
  • Standard processing priority (paid users receive priority queue access)

We reserve the right to modify free tier limitations with 30 days' notice. The free tier is intended for individual, non-commercial evaluation use.


7. Refund Policy

We offer refunds under the following conditions:

  • 14-day money-back guarantee: New paid subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of their initial purchase
  • Service outages: If claude cowork experiences sustained downtime exceeding 24 hours in a billing period, affected users may request a pro-rata credit
  • Billing errors: Duplicate charges or incorrect amounts will be refunded in full upon verification

Refund requests should be submitted to billing@thecoworkai.com or through the contact page. Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days to the original payment method.


8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Intellectual Property

The claude cowork application, website, documentation, logos, and all associated intellectual property are owned by claude cowork and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, service marks, or trade dress. The underlying AI model (Claude) is the intellectual property of Anthropic.

8.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or process through claude cowork. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of delivering the Service (e.g., sending prompts to Anthropic's API for AI processing and returning responses to you).

8.3 AI-Generated Output

Content generated by claude cowork's AI capabilities is provided "as is." You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and taking ownership of any AI-generated output before using it in professional, commercial, or public contexts. We make no claims of copyright over AI-generated output.


9. User-Generated Content

If you create and share custom skills, plugins, or configurations through the claude cowork marketplace or community features:

  • You retain ownership of your original contributions
  • You grant claude cowork a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and make available your shared content within the Service
  • You represent that your contributions do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • We may remove user-generated content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CLAUDE COWORK AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated content
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any third-party conduct on the Service
  • Service interruptions, delays, or failures

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.


11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

AI-generated content may contain errors, biases, or inaccuracies. You acknowledge that claude cowork is an AI tool and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for professional, legal, medical, or financial decisions.


12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless claude cowork, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Content you create, process, or distribute using the Service

13. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by uninstalling claude cowork and requesting account deletion via the contact page or Settings > Account > Delete Account.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:

  • You breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
  • We are required to do so by law or legal process
  • We discontinue the Service (with 90 days' advance notice to paid subscribers)

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy retention schedule.


14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California. You consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence.


15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Sending an in-app notification within claude cowork
  • Emailing registered users at least 30 days before material changes take effect

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.


16. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and claude cowork regarding the Service
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction
  • Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control
